Question Types

Auditflo offers a variety of question types to ensure that you can capture desired information accurately. The user who will execute the checklist, will have to provide responses depending on the question types you select while creating the checklist.

To use different question types, you need to access the desired checklist.

  1. First, click on the Checklists tab in the left navigation bar of your Auditflo screen to go to the Checklists page.

  2. Select the checklist you want to create the questions in, or create a new one.

  3. Once you are on the Update Checklist/Create Checklist page, click the + Add Question button.

  4. Select the type from the Question type dropdown in the question card.

Button

Select Button from the dropdown, to allow the respondent to click on buttons to answer the question.

  1. Enter the question title.

  2. Enter the text that should be displayed on each button, in each Response Label textbox.

  3. To change the background colour of each button, use the colour picker (default background colour for all buttons is white).

  4. You may specify other response fields as needed. Please visit Response Fields to know more.

Checkbox

Checkbox is the default question type on Auditflo. If Checkbox is selected from the dropdown, a list of response labels will be displayed, each with a square checkbox that can be ticked by the user to select that response.
Note: Users can select one, many, or even all responses in this type of question.

  1. Enter the question title.

  2. Enter the text that should be displayed next to each checkbox in each Response Label textbox.

  3. You may specify other response fields as needed. Please visit Response Fields to know more.



The Dropdown question type allows you to present a list of responses to the user, and they can select an option from this list as their answer.

Note: Users can select only one response from a dropdown.
  1. Enter the question title.

  2. Enter the text that should be displayed within the list in each Response Label textbox.

  3. These responses will automatically be displayed as a dropdown list for the respondent (you can see a preview of the same in the Mobile Preview area).

Radio Button

The Radio Button question type allows you to present responses to the user, and they can select an option from these as their answer. Radio buttons are characterized by circular buttons that will get filled when the user selects that response.

Note: Users can select only one response from a list of radio buttons.
  1. Enter the question title.

  2. Enter the text that should be displayed next to each radio button in each Response Label textbox.

  3. You can see a preview of the radio buttons in the Mobile Preview area.

Rating

The rating question type allows the respondent to answer questions by assigning a numerical rating or score.

Stars are displayed to rate the question. The user can tap on the desired star for half a star, or full star rating. The user can undo their rating by tapping the outer edge of the 1st star.

  1. Enter the question title.

  2. Specify the maximum rating from the Max Rating dropdown. You can choose a number between 3 and 10, and that many stars will be displayed.

  3. Select the “Allow half rating” checkbox if you want to let users provide half stars in the rating. E.g: 3.5 star rating.

  4. In this question type, the user will not be able to add image/remark/action based on the response.


Slider

In the slider type, questions are presented with a sliding scale or bar, allowing the user to select a value within a specified range.

  1. Enter the question title.

  2. Specify the Minimum and the Maximum value. These will be displayed at the ends of the slider.

  3. Set the step value. E.g. if Step By is set as 1, then user will be able to move the slider from 0 to 1, 1 to 2, 2 to 3, etc.

  4. In this question type, the user will not be able to add image/remark/action based on the response.

QR/Barcode

You can also take the scanned barcode or a QR code as a response.


Text

Selecting the text question type lets the user input text information of many types.

  1. Enter the question title.

  2. Enter the label which should be displayed on the checklist, so the user knows what information they are expected to type in this field.

  3. You can add one or more response labels for user response.

  4. Next, set the type of text that is acceptable. Following are the available types:

  • Short text

  • Email

  • Paragraph

  • Number

  • Date

  • Time

  • Date time

  • Mobile Number

  1. You can set a character limit to each response if needed, e.g. enter 500 to set a max response length of 500 characters.



Image

In the Image type, the user provides a visual response to a question by uploading one or more images, rather than selecting a response.

  1. Enter the question title.

  2. Select a suitable Image camera type from the dropdown:

    1. Camera—will open the back camera of the user’s device, so they can take one or more pictures as a response.

    2. Gallery—will open the user’s device gallery, and they will be able to upload images from there.

    3. Front camera—will open the front camera of the user’s device and take one or more pictures as a response.

    4. Image—will let the user capture an image using their camera or upload images from their device gallery, as per their choice.

  3. Finally, specify the maximum number of images a user can add in response to the question.


Signature

The signature question type allows the user to upload their signature as a response to a question. This option is often used for confirmation or authorization purposes.

  1. Enter the question title.

  2. A signature box will be autogenerated for the user on their device, and they will be able to provide a signature using the touchscreen/stylus on their device.
